Steady yourself, Mortal Shell 2's Rotten Autumn update comes packed with 15 new dungeons, a photo mode, an alternative soundtrack, and a neat pumpkin helmet

How's your autumn going? Mine's fine so far, I've switched back to hot beverages, as much as every cell in my being screams to ask for ice. But I reckon that sounds better than the autumn Mortal Shell 2 is having, given the name of the Soulslike's next seasonal update: Rotten Autumn. Sounds bad! In practice, however, it's quite an expansive sounding update that's already out. Read more

The demo for city-flattening fighting game Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered is a roaring good time, no nostalgia required

Despite being a lover of the King of the Monsters, I was unfortunately too young to experience Pipeworks Software's Godzilla trilogy of 3D kaiju-fighters back its PS2/Gamecube-era heyday (there was a PS2 in the house as a young child, but I also had no agency to ask for games or money to buy them). As such, I'm not necessarily the intended audience for Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered, a remake of Pipeworks' first entry back in 2002, but I can gladly tell you thanks to my time wi

I'm strongly of the opinion that loot boxes, gacha mechanics and whatever other form of gambling remains present in games is a scourge that ought to be wiped out. Absolutely no game is better for having gacha mechanics in it, only worse. The normalisation of gambling through alternative, softer names, cool cosmetics, and in many cases, cute anime girls is honestly abhorrent. European ratings board PEGI doesn't seem keen on it either, as they've begun enacting recent rule changes bring the defau

The latest game event to fall afoul of US visa rules is a live concert for horse girl racer Umamusume: Pretty Derby

Umamusume: Pretty Derby has turned out to be one of the most popular games in the world, partly due to being a gacha game and partly due to making pretty girls out of very real Japanese racehorses (which introduces a unique mourning when the real horse passes away and the anime girl lives on). A new kind of mourning faces the Umamusume fanbase now, as an upcoming stop on the game's The Stage: World Tour at Los Angeles' Peacock Theater has been cancelled right before it was supposed to open this
